5 stars (great update) - The improvemnet from the first cs is very good, for one it loads faster, and that in itself is worth the money to upgrade. i havent yet explored the other new features, but I trust adobe. 5 stars (Use only for stand alone PSCS upgrade) - If you use Adobe Creative Suite CS, this is not the upgrade for you. You will need to purchase an entire Suite upgrade. You cannot upgrade only the Photoshop CS application within the Suite. But, Photoshop is a fantastic program that works more smoothly than the operating system underwhich it works. With a couple of plugins from Photokit, it is the best thing for a digital photographer who wants to make dramatic, beautiful prints. 3 stars (Caution to Creative Suite CS users trying PhotoshopCS2 upgrade) - I already know the fabulous new features of Photoshop CS2. I have Creative Suite CS Premium. I purchased this upgrade for Photoshop to gain the new features. After several attempts in trying to install this software, I called Adobe, only to learn that this Photoshop CS2 upgrade does NOT work with the full version of Creative Suite CS....period !!! No where on their packaging is there such a caution. It says it is compatable with all versions of Photoshop. Funny...I have Photoshop CS in my Creative Suite Premium package...but guess what??....so what....it don't work !!!! I've waisted $140.00, and am not gonna spend $744.00 for Creative Suite CS2 Upgrade !!!!!! ...

Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus - Video Editing Software

5 stars (Excellent - as long as you have a reasonably recent PC) - I've been using Pinnacle for a couple years. This software is outstanding. Extremely powerful, yet reasonably intuitive to use. After learning a few basics, you're off and running to create powerful effects -- from corporate videos to very cool home videos. Good points: - Imports video nicely from dv camera - Breaks video up into scenes automatically for you - Easy drag, drop, cut, etc. to get just what you want into the timeline - Easy to modify the volume on the soundtrack and to add a music track and/or voiceover - Very powerful transitions -- the cool things you insert between segments of the video to make people say "wow, cool, how'd you do that"... you just drop them between scenes in your timeline and it does the rest - Preview without rendering time - If you want to dig deeper, you can -- title tools, transition effects can be highly customized, panning photos, etc. Drawbacks: - It's not a super high end product at this price -- there's only a couple audio tracks for instance. - I've had trouble with it on older hardware (more than a couple years). When you have hardware conflicts, it is terrible. It seems to randomly freeze and hang your machine, you lose your work, etc. It's awful. That probably accounts for most of the negative reviews. However, if your hardware will run it you will love this and be a great video editor in no time. 4 stars (Nice product. Off and running in a matter of minutes) - I purchsed Studio Version 9.3.9. Had no problems installing or running on my Dell Desktop or Laptop. Found program easy to use, importing video worked great (wish preview window defaulted to slightly larger size), Moving and trimming clips was easy, splitting clips was easy after viewing help file. Adobe GoLive CS2 Upgrade

1 stars (Not Worth Upgrading For) - Very disappointing release! I have been a GoLive user for going on two years now and after a long waiting period, CS2 is finally upon us. Unfortunately, CS2 did not herald the bug fixes and core improvements so many GoLive users have been waiting for. The most glaring problem is that GoLive CS2 still does not have a history feature. Even ridiculously simple functions like previewing your in-development pages make it impossible to revert to a previous state and undo any mistakes. Perform a find/replace and again, once you commit to the replace you cannot undo the change. What is the point of previewing your webpage if you can't go back and correct a mistake? It is this kind of blatant oversight that damns GoLive to being a subpar program that just doesn't feel as intuitive or polished as other Adobe products. There have been a number of small improvements (such as an advanced CSS library) but those changes cannot make you overlook the fact that at its core, GoLive CS2 is a buggy and fundamentally broken product that fails to deliver on every level. Another poor showing. When will Adobe get this right? Not worth the money as a stand alone product and certainly not worth upgrading from CS. ...

5 stars (Slick, Extraordinary!) - I downloaded the trial version from the company's website and decided to buy the full version straight away. The interface is different than standard Windows applications', but is clean-cut. I have no diffculty to build several testing albums following the simple steps dispalyed in the first starting page: select photos > select music > select style > change settings > build (save). I also figured out how to edit the saved albums in the My Album list. This is the most inspiring slideshow software I've ever seen. The result is definitely extraordinary. I've been able to create a wedding video using the 3D-Album animation (there are many adds-on for weddings) for the introduction part and the conclution credit at the end. I also created a photo slideshow displayed in a wedding reception. The pastor told me that he's been in many many weddings but this is the best show he's ever seen. A good value for your money. 1 stars (Terrible- Do NOT buy it) - I downloaded a demo version and made a few slideshows. First, it is very difficult to make simple changes. Not a typical interface software for performing simple functions that a normal program would have. There is no bottom for saving, nore a bottom to start new. You have to open a new sub-directory to retrieve pictures to start a new slideshow. And if you delete a set of pictures on the working directory, it actually deletes them from the actual subdirectory. You may have to get back to retrieve them from your recyle ben. It took me a whole day to figure out how to change simple funtions since it really has a bad menu system. The slideshow runs so slow, can't find a place to speed up the show. THey need a 24 online support system since there is no place to find an answer. There is no "find buttom" for the help menu for where or how to change the speed. 4 stars (Good Value) - I am a youth pastor and make a lot of flyers, calendars, postcards, etc. and needed a program to do just that. I previously had experience with Microsoft publisher, but didn't want to pay the cost for the software. I decided to take a chance with Publisher Pro and was fairly impressed for the price. The "thousands" of design templates is sort of a misnomer, they use pretty much the same designs on all the different formats: flyers, postcards, newsletters, etc. But, Microsoft Publisher does that too. However, Publisher Pro was not nearly as user-friendly as Microsoft Publisher. And, the graphics library is indeed large, but many of the graphics are fairly unprofessional and dated. It takes a little getting used to, especially if you are familiar with the Microsoft Program. One thing that I am disappointed with is the fact that you cannot change color schemes easily in Publisher Pro (or at least, I haven't figured it out yet and it's not intuitive). The program does come with a very detailed and large instruction manual that I'm sure would be helpful. But I don't think someone familiar with publishing software should have to use it to do basic tasks. I couldn't decide to give it 3 or 4 stars, but decided that it was a very good value and does have a lot of potential if you are willing to learn how to use the program. So, 4 stars it is. 5 stars (Great Product) - I like software that has a lot of templates and photos/graphics to work with and this program has it all!! 4 stars ( Microsoft Visio Professional 2003 Upgrade ) - I found this upgrade to install easily and well perform as expected. Help function is good but lack of hard copy manual or availabilty of one is a disappointment. 3 stars (Missing features of previous versions) - Visio 2003 Pro is a good product, but the fact that several key features are gone is the reason for a 3 star rating. I use Visio 2003 Pro for general diagramming and for informal data modeling and process modeling in the course of developing system requirements. I used the simple data flow model diagram for years in Visio 2000, but 2003 has removed the "model" capabilities; it's just a picture now with no reusable components. Pluses: Good screen layout options Still reverse-engineers databases Better shape manipulation Shape transparency Minuses: Removed "explorer" and modeling capabilities of Data Flow Model diagram Does not generate DDL (Data Definition Language) anymore (need Visual Studio) No longer exports to ERWin ERX files Does not save to Visio 5 format (only 2002) Removed Auto-Discovery Removed a bunch of file converters and import tools I recommend looking at Microsoft's "What you won't find in Microsoft Office Visio 2003" found at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010857571033.aspx. 5 stars (Does everything but tie your shoelaces for you) - I was able to turn out a complicated flowchart polished enough for professional training purposes in just two hours - despite having never used this kind of software before, and having no assistance whatsoever besides the program's own Help files.
